Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell

The main context of the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell is telling about their mission in Afghanistan to kill the Taliban.  So far, Marcus and his team have just arrived in Afghanistan, and they are getting ready for their mission. He keeps going back before the mission, and talks about his training and preparation for the mission. Marcus Luttrell is from Texas, and he was raised to be a Navy Seal. He passed his Navy Seals test and became part of a team. His brother is also a Navy Seal, but they do not work together. I am interested to see what happens once he starts his mission.

The book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell presents a lot of real world issues. It’s about the war in Afghanistan and Iraq which we have been fighting in since the terrorist attack on September 11^th, 2001. The book explains how the Taliban and Al Qaeda are still fighting against the U.S. today. The U.S. is still fighting to keep the organizations from growing. These groups are responsible for numerous terrorist attacks, and they need to be stopped. That’s why Marcus Luttrell and his team, and many others, have gone over seas to stop these people who will do anything to get what they want.

I just started reading the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell. So far it seems like a good book overall. From what I have read, in Chapter 1, a U.S. Navy Seal team is on there way to Afagnastan to fight the terroist that we're responsible for the attack on the World Trade Centers in 2001. The author describes Afganastan as a hot, endless desert that is a harsh environment. These men must to complete their mission in the unbearable desert environment. The author uses a lot of imagery to explain what the region is like, and what it feels like living in it. 

I chose to read the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell because of recommendations. The movie, Lone Survivor, recently came out, and it was made after the book. I have heard from friends that the book is a good book and shows the extreme life of a Navy Seal as he struggles to survive. I wanted to read the book to find out the whole story of what happened. I would also like to see the movie when I am finished reading this book.

A Time to Kill, by John Grisham

I recently just finished, A Time to Kill, by John Grisham. I thought the book overall was a really good book. John Grisham did a great job of putting a little twist in the story, and always keeping you on the  edge of your seat. He showed multiple viewpoints of the lawyers, criminal, town, and the court. John Grisham showed how the judicial system and the court of law works during a trial. This is a great book for anyone who likes mystery books, and is the beginning book of John Grisham's series.

I am going to continue to read the next book in the series, Pelican Brief. I really like the John Grisham books. He is a great author and you can learn a lot about how trials are conducted. I highly recommend to try reading one if his books. I will continue to read his books, and I hope you like his books if you read one.
