Blog Reflection

This blog shows how the character is expressed throughout the story. The main character, Marcus, must go through an extremely tough training week. The blog talks about how the trainees must go through many types of drills and exercises to complete your training. It’s described as ruthless and unbearable, and only the toughest will survive. This shows that Marcus is a strong, persistent character to get through this intense training week. The next part of the blog describes the main conflict. The main conflict is the training everyone must go through to become a Navy Seal. It describes the training as intense, hard, and repetitive. The blog talks about the trainees’ daily routine, and the problems they experience. This blog does a good job of explaining how the character is shown throughout the training, and it shows the main conflict in the story, the training.

Next trimester, I would like to continue improving on each of my blog post. I plan to read more next trimester, and take more time to think about what I have read. This trimester I think I did well improving with my blog post. I also didn’t read as much as I would have liked to. Next trimester I will make more time to read, and read more books than I did this trimester. The blog post I write need to keep improving, and become more descriptive and go a little deeper. I would like to keep reading and continue improving my blog post.

Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell the setting is very important to the novel. Currently the Seals are going through their training called BUDS. This training is very intense and only the best make it through. The setting is a Navy Seal training facility near the Pacific Ocean. Constantly, the Seals are doing exercises in the cold ocean. They complete swim test, and go through intense simulations. They are pushed to their limits, and live in harsh conditions. They are forced to run miles on wet, sticky, sandy beaches. The training facility where they eat, sleep, train, and live is made to be harsh and tough.

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell the way the Seals behave is because of everything they do when training. The Seals go through extensive training to prepare them for anything.  The training they go through is no piece of cake. They are drilled with the same things over and over again. Numerous simulations and exercises are done. Their training makes them who they are. They behave like a Seal because of the training they went through. The reasoning to how the think, function, and work is because of how they are trained.

Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, Marcus is going through rigorous training that pushes everyone to their limits. "H*** Week" is one of or the toughest training to go through to become a Navy Seal. This training is a week long and the trainees must be awake for nearly the entire time. They are put through numerous drills, exercises, simulations, that are extremely difficult. Every person is pushed to their limit, and many people can't handle it. Half of Marcus's class had left because this week of training was so hard. Some of the top people that did exceptionally well in the training, quit, because the training was so mentally and physically exhausting. This shows that Marcus is very determined and persistent to keep trying. He has come this far in training, and he knows that all Navy Seals had to have accomplished this training. He kept pushing on, and he survived through this unbearable training. Marcus was pushed far, and it shows that he is a strong character to continue through the harsh training.

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, the current main conflict is getting through the training. Navy Seal training is very repetitive, and extremely hard. Anything you do is a workout or exercise. Everyone gets up early and heads out to do the morning drills. Then after an exhausting workout or drill they can go get breakfast. But, they must run to the dining hall carrying their boat with them. After breakfast they do long exhausting drills until lunch. They run with their boats to the dining hall. Then back out doing drills all afternoon. Then dinner comes, and they eat, then continue with more drills. Eventually they can return to their bunks and wash up to be ready for the next day. The training they go through is repetitive, and they go through it everyday. Not all days are the same, and sometimes they get up at random hours of the night and are ordered to get up and go through drills.

It is so physically and mentally exhausting. To become a Navy Seal you must survive and go through the hardest training in the world.

Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell

Right now in the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, the Navy Seals are going through their training. This training is extremely tough, and only the best will survive and make it. The training they go through is rigorous, with physical and psychological test. I predict that out of the 111 people left in Marcus's training group, only a handful will remain. A lot of people had been dropping out over the course of the training, and more are to come. More people will give up as the training gets harder. The teachers are watching to see who will persist and keep fighting till the end. I think Marcus will remain at the end of the training along with a few others.

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, the main character, Marcus has changed a lot. Marcus knew who he wanted to be at a young age. He had been preparing to be a Navy Seal his whole life. He started young, getting trained by his father and an Ex-Seal. He was trained to live in the water like "frogmen". The Ex- Navy Seal taught him the training he needed, to be prepared for the long journey ahead. Marcus went to multiple Navy training centers where he was trained into the Navy life. He then went on to Navy Seal training, which very few people ever accomplish. This training is extremely tough, and we have no idea really how hard this trading is. It is amazing how Marcus grows up and dedicates his whole life training to be a Navy Seal.

Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell

The book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, is about Navy Seals fighting Al Qaeda and other terrorist. Wars and fighting raise questions about right or wrong. There are a lot of reasons for fighting, and there are a lot of reasons for not fighting. What our military does is wrong, but they are doing it for the right reasons. We were attacked by these terrorist, and we have no choice but to defend ourselves from our enemies. The act of killing people is wrong, but protecting ourselves from our enemies is necessary. Though the actions themselves are wrong, they are for the right reasons of protecting our country.

In the book, Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell, I think their Navy Seal team is a strong team. The theme of this book so far is teamwork. The Navy Seals live by a code, and basically they will do anything to protect their country and each other.  They work together as a team, when separate they are weak, but together they are strong. These men and women work together, and will never leave any member of their team behind. Each Seal team is a family; they live, sleep, fight, and survive together. Teamwork is key to their survival.
